Southwest Florida runs on clubhouse calendars: HOA socials, country club dinners, 55+ community mixers, snowbird welcome-back nights, holiday parties in the rec hall. Activity directors and social committees book a lot of live music, and what they're listening for is an act that plays to a room rather than at it.
This is where the front half of Dave's songbook gets the most use: Frank Sinatra, '50s classics, Motown, and R&B, played by someone who knows them cold. Country & western and classic rock fill out the rest, and there's always somebody who wants to hear something from the 2000s.
The music is set to the room's volume, not a stage's. People can talk at their table, and when the floor wants to dance, it can.

A company party is a hard crowd to program for. Holiday parties, client appreciation nights, sales meetings, award dinners, and retirement send-offs all put four decades of taste in one room at once.
That's the case for a 1,000+ song book spanning Frank Sinatra through 2000s hits. Dinner and the awards portion get standards and easy classic rock underneath them. Afterward, if the room turns into a party, the material is already there — Motown, R&B, classic rock, and pop, taken as requests from the floor.
Solo acoustic also fits the spaces these events actually happen in: hotel function rooms, restaurant back rooms, office courtyards, and club dining rooms.

Dave J is a solo acoustic performer with over 30 years on stage, originally from Philadelphia and South Jersey and now based in Southwest Florida. He has played the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and Atlantic City's House of Blues, and has opened for The Eagles, Paul Simon & Sting, Little Feat, Peter Noone's Herman's Hermits, and Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, including an opening performance at the SWFL Event Center in Bonita Springs in 2020.
